Reading Fertilizer Labels

A 10-10-10 fertilizer contains 10% nitrogen, 10% phosphorus (as P2O5), and 10% potassium (as K2O) by weight. A 50-pound bag contains 5 pounds of each nutrient. The remaining 35 pounds are filler and carrier materials.
